Installation
The Matchpad 1500 underlay is 10mm thick, and tapers down to less than 5mm on the edge, which has to be trimmed. If they do not taper, joins must be butted together. Work in sections of 10-15 metres, working across the playing surface. Roll out rolls across the width of the field. Tape joins every 4-6 metres with self-adhesive woven tape (recommend duct tape with 300mm wide x 300mm) down the entire seam as soon as the pad is rolled out; this prevents the seams ‘walking’ away from each other. Continue with the remaining rolls. Installation of the shockpad is best done in dry conditions, but in normal conditions, i.e. rain, wind and showers it is probably best to roll out in 10 – 15 metre sections across the field’s width and install the grass directly over the pad.
