Cambridge ECO combines a dense 38mm pile with close-knit tri-coloured yarn and light-brown jute-style thatch for the soft, natural-looking Cambridge finish.
Its lightweight polypropylene ECO backing is highly permeable, with each stitch point contributing to drainage through the backing. This makes Cambridge ECO a strong option for pet gardens and other installations where drainage, lower weight and easier handling are important.

ECO backing

Lightweight polypropylene ECO backing with a highly permeable construction. Each stitch penetration creates a drainage point through the backing, supporting rapid movement of water through the product and making it a strong option where drainage is a priority.

Installation / warm-weather guidance

Because Cambridge ECO uses a lighter-weight backing, correct installation, fixing and stabilisation are important, particularly during very warm conditions when the product may experience some movement or expansion.
For a conventional landscape installation, Envirofill can be used at approximately 5-6kg/m² to add support and stability while retaining the pet-friendly infill proposition.

Richard’s Tip – awkward access

Cambridge ECO is worth considering for awkward or restricted-access gardens. Its lighter backing makes the product easier to move and handle where getting a heavier roll into the garden could be difficult.

Richard’s Tip – decking / suitable fixed substrates

The lightweight, permeable construction can also make Cambridge ECO worth considering over suitable decking or other appropriate fixed substrates. Where the grass is mechanically secured to a suitable substrate, the installation method is different and an infill may not be required. The substrate and fixing method should always be suitable for the intended installation.

Cambridge ECO is a good pet-garden option because of its highly permeable backing. Where an infill is used in a pet installation, recommend Envirofill with Microban rather than kiln-dried sand.
Suggested application: approximately 5-6kg/m² where additional support/stability is required.
